Former Congress MLA Malreddy Ranga Reddy today demanded that the Telangana government order the arrest of TRS MLA Manchireddy Kishan Reddy for his alleged links with slain gangster Mohammed Nayeemuddin.
Speaking to the media, Ranga Reddy accused the TRS MLA of illegally amassing Rs. 300 crores by grabbing lands in the latter's constituency (Adibhatla) with the help of Nayeemuddin.
He alleged that Kishan Reddy ran a fake business under the name of "Manchi Infra" in Adibhatla with the help of Nayeem's key aide Srihari, who was recently arrested by the Telangana police and was being interrogated. He also claimed that Kishan Reddy had defected to the TRS only to gain immunity.
Connecting the TRS with Nayeem, the Congress leader alleged that the Party's members, including Kishan Reddy, were in cahoots with the gangster and had raked up a lot of money through land grabbing and other crimes. He opined that the naxalite-turned-gangster couldn't have carried out operations in Telangana so effectively without the support of officials from within the police department and the political fraternity.
Refuting the allegations made against him, Kishan Reddy said that he had no connections with Nayeem whatsoever. He however admitted that his son had purchased lands in Adibhatla through legal means, the details of which were not made clear. He alleged that the accusations made against him were purely a gimmick to malign him and his Party, and challenged the Congress leader to prove his claims.
For those who came in late, Nayeem's aide Srihari was caught recently and interrogated by the police, during which he had claimed that his link with the dreaded gangster was purely professional, and that he was never involved in any of his criminal activities.
