Syed Shah Ghulam Sarwar Biyabani, on Monday, said that the Wakf Circle Committees would be revived to protect the properties within city limits.
Talking to media persons after being unanimously elected as the chairman of the Andhra Pradesh State Haj Committee, Biyabani vowed to work to protect the properties of Muslims of which the Wakf Board was the custodian.
Biyabani, who is better known as Khusro Biyabani, is the Sajjadah Nasheen of the famous Kazipet Dargah of Hazrath Syed Shah Afzal Biyabani. At 40 years, he is also the youngest person to be selected the chairman of the Wakf Board and the first one to be elected from among the Muttawalis and Sajjadahs of the various dargahs.
The meeting to elect the new chairman of the Wakf Board was chaired by pro tem Chairman Ilyas Sait.
Jamia Nizamia Rector Syed Akbar Nizamuddin proposed Biyabani's name and Abdul Jabbar seconded it.
