Speaking on the occasion, Shabbir Ali asserted that the Congress was committed to fulfilling all the promises it had made to various sections of society.
He also expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for appointing him as an Advisor and entrusting him with the responsibility of overseeing the welfare of four significant communities - SC, ST, BC and minorities, constituting nearly 85% of the total population in the State. He pointed out that the Congress, in addition to its six guarantees, had issued separate declarations for the welfare of the SC, ST, BC and minority communities, and vowed to use his experience and expertise to ensure the welfare of all the four communities.
"In 2004, as a minister in the Congress government headed by Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, I had played a crucial role in incorporating 4% reservations for Muslims. This time I have gotten the opportunity to serve not only the minorities but also the SC, ST and BC communities. I will carry out my duties with fairness and dedication," he said.
He also said that he would consult all stakeholders, including government officials, representative organizations from all communities, and other experts, and submit suggestions to the CM on how to fulfill the party's promises, and subsequently set deadlines or priorities for the implementation.
He reassured the public that every promise made by the party during the Assembly elections would be honoured, and urged people not to be swayed by opposition propaganda, specifically that from the BRS.
