Naidu's Dharma Porata Deeksha Another Gimmick: Roja

YSR Congress Party MLA R K Roja today ridiculed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's Dharma Porata Deeksha, alleging that the CM would not have kept quiet for four years on the issue of Special Status for the state if he genuinely cared about it, and that his protests now were just attempts to deceive the people with fake concern to win the 2019 elections.

Speaking to the media at the party head office in Hyderabad on Sunday, Roja said that the TDP had miserably failed in making the Centre implement the assurances mentioned in the A P Reorganization Act in the last four years. Accusing Naidu of mortgaging the state's future to escape from the vote-for-note case, Roja called him a betrayer of the state.

She pointed out that it was in fact the YSRCP that had made the nation sit up and understand the raw deal meted out to AP by making its MPs tender resignations. She accused Naidu of suppressing with an iron hand the YSRCP movement for special status for the state, and also alleged that Naidu had entered a secret agreement with the Congress and hatched a conspiracy against YSRCP chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

Alleging that Naidu had tried to purchase MLCs in the neighbouring state, Roja said that it was shocking that he was now speaking of conspiracies. She also called his Dharma Porata Deeksha in Vijayawada an audio function, and said that the upcoming Dharma Porata Deeksha in Tirupati on April 30 was going to be yet another drama.
