MLC Teenmaar Mallanna today officially launched the Telangana Rajyadhikara Party, a new political platform reportedly aimed at empowering the Backward Classes (BCs) in Telangana.
The announcement was made at a gathering held at the Taj Krishna Hotel in Hyderabad.
Mallanna said that September 17 marked a pivotal moment for the BCs in the State, and that his party was established to provide a robust political voice for this majority community.
He criticised the existing political structures for "neglecting" the BCs, and pledged to rectify this imbalance.
Previously affiliated with the Congress, Mallanna was suspended in March 2025 following his criticism of the State's caste survey report, which he deemed inadequate. His departure from the Congress has been marked by significant political developments, including a confrontation at his office in Medipally in July, where his security personnel discharged warning shots during a protest by Telangana Jagruthi workers.
The launch of the Telangana Rajyadhikara Party is expected to influence the political landscape, particularly concerning BC representation and policies in the State.
