YSRCP leader and former AP MLA and former Whip Gadikota Srikanth Reddy today alleged that CM Chandrababu Naidu was spreading poison for political gain.
He accused Naidu of playing political games by obstructing the activities of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).
Reddy said that the report on the alleged adulteration of the Tirumala laddus had surfaced in July but was made public only in September, making things suspicious. He also said that the report itself was false, and part of a propaganda campaign against the laddus.
Reddy said that the ghee used in the laddu was tested in three phases.
"To produce one kilogram of ghee, 40 litres of milk is required. Every day, only 30 litres of such ghee are used. It is impossible to produce 50 tons of ghee this way. Sacred ghee is essential for naivedyam, abhishekam and lamps. And the butter used for navaneetha seva is made from cows raised on the hills," he said.
He criticized Naidu saying, "He has made a mistake. How long will these dramas continue? Conspiracies are being hatched to exploit sentiments and tarnish the reputation of Tirumala. Chandrababu Naidu is trying to shift the blame onto his opponents."
Reddy also asked how many funds were allocated for temples from 2014 to 2019 and how many funds were sanctioned from 2019 to 2024. He called for an inquiry to present the facts to the public without distortion.
"This should not be viewed through a political lens. The puja process in Tirumala is conducted by the jiyars," he said.
