AP People Have No Faith In TDP, YSRCP: Pawan Kalyan

Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan said that the people of Andhra Pradesh did not believe in TDP's and YSR Congress Party's movements seeking Special Category Status (SCS) to the state.

He also alleged that the then UPA government had divided the state by allocating assets to Telangana and debts to residual Andhra Pradesh.

Kalyan participated in the padayatras he called for today to protest against the attitude of the Centre towards Andhra Pradesh and the non-implementation of the assurances mentioned in the AP Reorganization Act, along with the leaders of the Left parties Madhu (CPM) and Ramakrishna (CPI) on the national highway from Benz Circle in Vijayawada to Ramavarappadu.

Speaking on the occasion, the actor-politician said that the people would not be sold out like the leaders, and that he would wage movements with everyone for the sake of SCS.

He said that he was waging the movement along with the Left parties as the TDP and the YSRCP were not fighting for SCS sincerely, and alleged that some leaders had mortgaged SCS for their selfish ends. Reminding the audiences of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's remarks that the special package offered was wonderful when compared to special status which was just "a stale laddu", Kalyan said that Naidu had now done a flip-flop and was again fighting for special status, showing that he was completely unreliable and insincere.

"We have no belief in the state government and there is no use of any all-party meetings. If the TDP were committed, it would have conducted an all-party meeting one year ago. The TDP and the YSRCP have failed to wage movements succumbing to external pressures. I am speaking on the special category status now as they have failed in achieving it for four years," he said.

He suggested that the ministers discuss with all political parties the movement's future course of action.
