Telangana Labour Minister Ch Malla Reddy today said that two victims of
the Bollaram IDA industrial mishap, where eight workers were injured in a reactor blast at the Vindhya Organics chemical factory, were reportedly critical.
The minister visited the victims at the hospital where they were being treated and consoled their family members, and assured them that the state government would ensure that the victims were compensated by the factory's management.
He also met the doctors treating the workers, and asked them to provide good health services and treatment to the victims.
Reddy then lashed out at the factory's management, and said that its failure to take preventive measures had led to the tragedy.
"We have asked the officials to look into the fire safety practices at the factory and implement the standard norms to prevent any such incidents in the future," he added.
The minister also said that the government had served notices to 15 companies regarding the implementation of safety norms to prevent any industrial accidents, and warned that violators would be severely dealt with.
