A massive fire broke out at Nasense Labs, a chemical company located in the Jeedimetla Industrial Area, a suburb of Hyderabad, today.
Four reactors located on the company's premises exploded with a huge bang at about 8:00 am, resulting in the fire. Four workers of Nasense were reportedly seriously injured in the explosion.
They have been identified as Hari Prasad, Arjun, Manish and Manish Baski. The injured have been rushed to a hospital for treatment. However, the whereabouts of another worker, Vijay, have not yet been determined.
Four fire tenders from the Jeedimetla, Sanathnagar and Kukatpally fire stations had to be rushed to the site to douse the flames.
Though the area where the incident took place has seven more reactors, fortunately the remaining reactors were not affected in the explosion.
The cause of the fire has not been discovered yet.
Some months ago, a similar incident took place at a
tyre godown in Old City's Afzal Gunj area. Large flames leapt out of the site after the fire broke out, leaving locals terrified as the godown is located close to a petrol pump.
The entire area was seen covered in thick smoke that was emanating from the flames. Piles of gutted, melting tyres were also seen lying around.
A total of eight fire engines had to be rushed to the spot to get the fire under control. Thankfully, however, no casualties were reported.
