The Abdullapurmet police today arrested at the ORR a person named Kolipaka Srinivasa Rao, 49, a scrap dealer residing at Namalagundu, Warasiguda, Secunderabad, and a native of Payakapuram, Vijayawada, for allegedly murdering his wife and her lover by hitting them with a hammer, a screw-driver and boulders on their vital parts.
The murders, in Kothagudem village of Abdullapurme, had come to light a couple of days back.
The deceased - Yedla Yashwanth alias Bunny, 22, driver, resident of Boudhanagar, Warasiguda, Secunderabad; and Kolipaka Sathyavathi alias Jyothi, 28, residing at Namalagundu, Warasiguda, Secunderabad (the second wife of the accused) - were reportedly having sex when the accused, in a pre-planned attack, came armed with a hammer and a screwdriver, and attacked them indiscriminately on their heads. Rao then attacked them with boulders as a result of which both died on the spot.
Rao along with his wife had migrated to Hyderabad for a livelihood and was residing at Warasiguda. Yashwanth came into contact with Sathyavathi and developed an illicit intimacy. Coming to know of the affair, Rao warned them to stop it immediately, but Yashwanth and Sathyavati didn't, and continued the relationship. And they allegedly also used the house of the accused for their sexual activities.
Unable to tolerate it any more, Rao decided to kill them, and executed his plan by following Yashwanth when he picked up Jyothi on his scooter for a romp in the outskirts.
He was arrested on Thursday at 6 am near the ORR, and produced before the court for judicial remand.
