Jilted Lover Attacks Girlfriend, Kills Her Brother

A jilted lover today attacked his girlfriend and her younger brother with a knife when she refused to marry him, at RTC Colony of L B Nagar in the city, killing the latter.

The accused has been identified as Shiva Kumar.

According to reports, the accused barged into the house of the victims to demand that the girl, Sanghavi, marry him. However, the girl refused, and asked him to leave. Enraged by her rejection, Shiva took a kitchen knife to attack her. She then reportedly ran into the bedroom and locked herself in, and her brother, Prudhvi Goud, came to her rescue.

Shiva stabbed Prudhvi in the lungs, and the latter ran out of the house screaming for help. Sanghavi came out of the bedroom upon hearing Prudhvi's screams, and Shiva stabbed her too. She sustained injuries on her neck, face and hands.

Neighbours came to help them with sticks and detained Shiva in a room. They shifted Sanghavi and Prudhvi to a hospital. While Prudhvi passed away on the way, Sanghavi is said to be out of danger.

Sanghavi and Prudhvi, natives of Kondurg in Ranga Reddy district, were pursuing their education staying in a rented room. While Sanghavi is doing a homeopathy course, her brother was an engineering graduate. The police have arrested Shiva and started their investigation.
