The Cyberabad Police have successfully solved the sensational murder case of Renuka Agarwal (50), who was brutally killed in her own flat at Swan Lake Apartments, Kukatpally.
Three accused persons have been arrested in Ranchi, Jharkhand, and are being produced before the local court for a transit warrant.
The accused are: Harsh Kumar (20), a house help; Roshan Singh (22), a house help; and Raju Varma (19). All are natives of Ranchi, Jharkhand.
On September 10, the police registered a case based on a complaint from Agarwal's husband, who suspected Harsh Kumar and Roshan Singh, a neighbour's house help. The investigation revealed that both those persons had carefully monitored Agarwal's family for a few days before the incident. On the day of the crime, after Agarwal's husband and son left the flat, they tied Agarwal's hands and legs, and tortured her for the locker passcode, which she reportedly did not know. They eventually slit her throat and killed her, looted gold ornaments, cash, watches and imitation jewellery items, and escaped to Ranchi.
The accused were traced using CCTV footage and arrested by four special teams comprising officers from the Kukatpally PS, the CCS, and the SOT Police.
Roshan Singh reportedly has a criminal history in Ranchi, and Raju Varma helped them after they landed in Ranchi.
The police seized materials including gold ornaments, 16 watches, 2 mobile phones, the house key of the complainant's flat, and rold-gold ornaments from the accused. The police also confirmed that the accused confessed to the crime during interrogation.
