Senior Congress leader and Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Sunday slammed TRS working president K T Rama Rao for ignoring the former's constituency.
Reddy alleged that works pertaining to the construction of a road between the Thatti Annaram crossroads and Pedda Amberpet, estimated to cost Rs 5.8 crore, had not been taken up even one year after the laying of the foundation stone by KTR.
Reddy accused KTR of laying the foundation stone just to woo the people of the Ibrahimpatnam Assembly constituency. He claimed that the government had issued orders for the taking up of developmental works before the Assembly elections, but that most of the works had not been taken up so far.
Noting that KTR was prompt in reacting to issues on Twitter, he demanded that the TRS working president respond on the issue raised by him too on the same platform.
He said that KTR needed to admit to the people of his (Reddy's) constituency that he had laid the foundation stone for the works only to get their votes, and tender an apology to them.
He also demanded that the State government take up the pending road construction works immediately.
