KCR Now Buying Opposition Councillors: Congress

Congress MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Tuesday continued his tirade against Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his TRS.

Speaking about the results of the recent Telangana municipal elections at Gandhi Bhavan, he said that he said that he had not seen such pathetic elections anywhere in the last 25 years. He alleged that KCR had blackmailed his own cabinet ministers and MLAs even before the release of the municipal elections notification, warning the ministers that they would lose their cabinet positions and the MLAs that they would not get TRS tickets the next time to contest if they did not ensure TRS victories in all the municipal wards/divisions in their districts (for ministers) / constituencies (for MLAs).

He said that this led to the cabinet ministers and the TRS MLAs using their "ill-gotten" money to threaten rival party leaders.

The Bhongir MP said that even the election of chairpersons was corrupted. TRS leaders had bagged the Yadagirigutta municipality by using the ex-officio member vote, and that although the Congress had got a majority in the Adibhatla municipality, TRS leaders took away their party councillors and made one of them the municipal chairman.

He also alleged that the party councillors from Pedda Amberpet were taken away by TRS leaders, and that the CPM councillors in Choutuppal were bought by the TRS leaders. And he said that the ruling party leaders had cheated 74-year-old Narayana Reddy by not making him the Gajwel municipal chairperson.

Reddy also claimed that the police had behaved more cruelly than even the razakars.

Targeting TRS working president KTR, he asked if he was not ashamed of the fact that he had retracted from his statement of not allowing the Sircilla rebel leaders back into the party fold. He said that the father-son duo of KCR and KTR were behaving in a shameless manner, and warned the two leaders that he would not leave them and would expose them in the "public court".
