Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy today said that the government would not hesitate to invoke the Preventive Detention (PD) Act against those involved in the recent attack allegedly led by BRS youth leader Bogamoni Suresh Raj on Vikarabad Collector Prateek Jain and others, who had visited Lagacharla village to gather public opinion.
Speaking to the media, the minister strongly condemned the incident and demanded that former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao respond to the incident and issue a public apology.
The minister also spoke of various others issues in the news in the State. Addressed the ongoing phone-tapping case, he asserted that all angles were being investigated and that no one, including K T Rama Rao and former MLAs, would be exempt from investigation.
Reddy also speculated that KTR's recent trip to Delhi was a calculated move to avoid detention in corruption cases.
He also criticized the previous BRS government for filing cases against Dalits and BCs during the construction of the Mallanna Sagar project.
The minister also spoke on issues in crop procurement, warning rice mills against refusing to purchase paddy, and pledging that the entire paddy procurement process would be completed within a week.
Expressing disappointment over the silence of Union ministers regarding cotton procurement, he said that the stance of the BJP and Central ministers appeared to indirectly support the BRS.
