Bhongir MP and Congress leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Monday made disparaging remarks against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his son IT Minister K T Rama Rao, calling them more dangerous than wild animals.
Elaborating, Reddy said that though the people of the Yadagirigutta municipality had given a majority to the Congress, the ruling TRS leaders were trying to bag the municipal chairperson's post by using the votes of ex-officio members.
He alleged that the TRS leaders had made arrangements to utilize the vote of party MLC and former deputy chief minister Kadiyam Srihari during the election of the municipal chairperson.
He also alleged that the TRS was trying to grab the chairperson's post through illegal means.
The TRS was butchering democracy in the presence of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, he lamented.
He also said the CM had done nothing for development of Yadagirigutta although he had visited the temple town 12 times.
Reddy also claimed that TRS leaders were trying to win the Nalgonda municipal chairperson's post with the help of the MIM and the BJP, and also that the TRS leaders had forcibly taken away an independent candidate to their camp.
Referring to the elections held in Choutuppal municipality, he said that they had spared seven seats for the CPM, and that his brother and the Congress MLA from Munugode, Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy, had ensured the victory of three CPM candidates. He alleged that the TRS leaders then offered Rs 2 crore as party fund in exchange for the CPM's support to win the municipal chairperson's post, and that Rajgopal Reddy was arrested when he raised the issue during the election of the municipal chairman. He demanded that the State government release his brother immediately.
Reddy also alleged that the Chief Minister's daughter and former MP K Kavitha had bought 500 acres in Turkapally in the name of benamis, and that he had evidence to prove his allegations.
