The government has allocated the additional portfolio of Municipal Administration and Urban Development to Panchayat Raj and IT minister K Taraka Rama Rao.
Hyderabad | 7th February 2016
As declared by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao at an election meeting in Secunderabad Parade Grounds recently, the State government has allocated the additional portfolio of Municipal Administration and Urban Development to Panchayat Raj and IT minister K Taraka Rama Rao, who is also KCR's son.
An order to this effect was issued by the State government on Sunday in the name of the Governor of Telangana.
It may be mentioned that KTR, who was empowered to lead the Party's "soldiers" in the GHMC "battle of the ballot" by Party supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, had relentlessly campaigned in the entire Greater Hyderabad area single-handedly and won admiration from both the citizens and the Party leaders.
As a result of that, while addressing the mammoth public meeting in Parade Grounds, the Chief Minister had announced that the Party's "star campaigner" in the GHMC elections would be assigned the additional responsibility of Municipal Administration & Urban Development (a portfolio which was with the CM himself until then) after the elections, since KTR had developed a sound understanding of municipal issues due to the campaigning.
