Congress Blames KCR For Postponement Of GHMC Polls
The Party alleged that KCR was trying to conduct the GHMC polls during the Sankranthi festival so that most Seemandhra voters would not cast their votes.
Congress leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy lashed out at the TRS government for getting the GHMC elections postponed, saying that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was trying to conduct the GHMC elections during the Sankranthi festival to ensure that the Seemandhra voters did not cast their votes.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Reddy alleged that KCR had also divided the wards as he wished, and demanded that the government postpone the notification of the wards' division until the Election Commission took a decision on the voters' names deletion issue.
He alleged that the government had stepped back on its original intention to increase the number of wards feeling that it might lose the power of appointing co-opted members.
He also demanded that the government divide the wards on the basis of population.
