Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today chaired a crucial cabinet meeting with his ministers.
The meeting was held at Pragathi Bhavan at 5 pm, and assumed importance as the High Court had favoured some amendments to some existing laws.
KCR briefed his cabinet colleagues on the amendments needed to the GHMC Act and the revenue act amendments among others, and the bills to be introduced in the upcoming Assembly and Council sessions to incorporate the amendments.
The Chief Minister is understood to have given the nod for the removal of a clause in the GHMC Act that denies a chance to people with more than two children to contest elections to the civic body.
He also asked the ministers to ensure the purchases of farm produce in all the districts through the 5,690 purchase centres, and offer an MSP.
The cabinet also discussed about the Regulatory Farming Policy to be implemented during the summer, and the purchase of paddy, among other issues.
KCR also directed the ministers to make efforts to publicize on the government's welfare programs even more extensively.
The cabinet also focused on the business to be transacted in the upcoming special Assembly and Council sessions on October 13 and 14 respectively.
