Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's recent statement at a public meeting in the Kollapur constituency on Friday expressing his intent to serve a second term and remain in office for a total of 10 years has reportedly sparked dissent within the Congress, with several leaders openly voicing their objections.
Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy today responded to the Chief Minister's remarks, and said that such comments contradicted the principles of the Congress. His reaction has drawn considerable attention.
Rajagopal Reddy said in a post on X, "Revanth Reddy's claim of being Chief Minister for the next ten years compromises the Congress' policies. In our national party, the Chief Minister is chosen democratically, as per the directives of the high command. Party leaders and members will not accept attempts to turn Telangana Congress into a personal domain."
For the unversed, the MLA, who had aspired for a cabinet berth in the Telangana government, was overlooked during the recent reshuffle due to political considerations. Since then, he has expressed dissatisfaction with the party leadership and publicly voiced frustration over being denied a ministerial post. His latest remarks on the Chief Minister have stirred debate within political circles and the Congress.
