Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has once again skipped Prime Minister Narendra Modi's official programs in Telangana.
Modi visited Telangana to lay the foundation stones for multiple developmental projects worth more than Rs 13,545 crore on Sunday. However, the CM stayed away from Modi's tour, and instead deputed Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav to receive the Prime Minister at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad.
This is not the first time that KCR has given a miss to Modi. The Chief Minister has been staying away from the PM's visits for the last couple of years reportedly due to an ongoing political feud with the BJP.
Incidentally, however, KCR has also been confined to Pragathi Bhavan for the last ten days as he has been suffering from viral fever. BRS sources say that KCR couldn't participate in Modi's visit as the fever has not yet subsided.
The Prime Minister reached the Shamshabad airport from New Delhi in a special flight on Sunday afternoon. Modi was welcomed by Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, DGP Anjani Kumar, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy and others.
