Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched a scathing attack on Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

He claimed that KCR's attitude had completely changed after the GHMC elections, and that KCR had met him and urged him to allow his party to join the NDA.

"Today I am telling you a secret that I have never told you before. After the GHMC elections, KCR came to Delhi and met me. He asked me to allow him to join the NDA. He requested me to bless KTR. I told KCR that this was not a monarchy and that only those who had been blessed by the people would be the rulers. I also told him that I would not form an alliance with his BRS," he said.

The PM was speaking at the BJP's Janagarjana public meeting organised in the Giriraj College grounds in the Nizamabad district headquarters.

Modi also claimed that KCR was very affectionate with him until the GHMC elections, and that the Telangana CM had also given him a grand welcome. "What's the matter now? KCR's behaviour changes when his needs are fulfilled. We are not afraid of the harassment of our activists in any number of ways," he said.

He also alleged that KCR's family was looting the wealth of the people of the State, and that only that family was enjoying the fruits of the formation of Telangana. The BJP was however committed to the development of Telangana, Modi claimed. "Hospitals and new railway lines are being constructed in the State, and its infrastructure is being boosted significantly, as you can all see," he said.

The PM also urged Telangana's women to bless BJP in the upcoming elections. Pointing out that the Women's Reservation Bill was passed a few days ago, he thanked the women who had come to the public meeting.

"I feel fortunate that women are coming in large numbers, and we are going to see more women power in the future. Telangana's mothers and sisters should bless the BJP in the form of votes," Modi said.

Targeting the Congress, the PM said that it would never come back to power in the State. He also alleged that the BRS was associated with the Congress. "The two of them have made open-door agreements. Similar dark deals have been made by them in Karnataka, too," he alleged.
