BJP Telangana President and union minister G Kishan Reddy today alleged that CM K Chandrashekar Rao was ruling the State like a dictator.
He alleged that the CM was depriving the people and Opposition leaders of the State from exercising their right to protest.
Reddy was attending at a "Meet the Press" event organised at the Somajiguda Press Club. Speaking on the occasion, he said, "KCR will lose in both the Kamareddy and the Gajwel Assembly constituencies. Candidates and leaders can be throttled by threats and bought with money, but the people's anger cannot be reduced."
Reddy also said that KCR was famous for reneging on his promises. "He promised to make a dalit the CM of the State and reneged on that. He promised an unemployment allowance of Rs. 3,016 per month and reneged on that. He promised to fill lakhs of government jobs and reneged on that - not even a single teacher's post has been filled in for the last 10 years. All KCR has done is bring family rule to Telangana, and loot the State. No one has ever accused the Modi government of being corrupt, but KCR's family is in the midst of a huge number of corruption allegations and investigations," he said.
Reddy also attacked the Congress. "There has to be a change in Telangana, but it is not a change if the Congress comes to power. MLAs who had won from the Congress previously sold themselves to the BRS after the elections, showing the nature of the Congress leaders. The BJP has never had such defections, and never allied with the BRS. The Congress thus has no moral right to criticise our party. The BJP will also never join hands with a party that allies with the MIM," he added.
He also alleged that the Congress was collecting taxes in Karnataka for the Telangana elections, and claimed that crores of rupees were coming into Telangana from Karnataka. He also criticised the Congress for making promises that could not be implemented.
Talking about the BJP's incomplete candidate list, Reddy said that the party had so far released three lists of candidates, and that it would soon finalise the candidates for the remaining seats.
