Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Revanth Reddy today said that he was ready for any punishment if his party got less than 80 seats in the upcoming Assembly elections in the State.
Reddy was speaking at the Vijayabheri Jana Sabha held in Nizamabad Rural constituency on Wednesday.
"KCR is saying that the Congress will not get even 20 seats. I am telling KCR with all of Nizamabad as my witness. The people will ensure the victory of the Congress with not less than 80 assembly seats. I am ready for any punishment if we get less than 80 seats," he said, and asked if KCR could make a similar challenge.
He added that the Congress was asking for the votes of the people by showing the Sriram Sagar project, and asked if KCR could seek votes by showing the Kaleswaram project.
Reddy told KCR that an "Indiramma Rajyam" would be established in the State by kicking out his feudal rule, and that Indiramma Rajyam was a kingdom of the poor. He also said that there was no dearth of funds for the welfare of the poor, and criticized KCR for not doing anything for them in 10 years.
"In fact, KCR has done nothing for anyone in 10 years. The problem of podu lands has not been solved. The Lambadas have not been supported and the Manchippa project has not been completed. The promise of reopening the Nizam Sugar Factory within 100 days of coming into power has not been fulfilled even after 10 years," he said.
