BRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today asked the people of the State not to get tempted by money and liquor and cast their votes for "golmaal" parties, as that would lead to the people facing severe punishment for the next five years.
Addressing a Praja Aashirwada Sabha at Palakurthy in Jangaon district, the CM said that their votes would determine the future of Telangana, and so the people should cast them wisely for a party which was working sincerely for the development of the State.
The CM attacked the Congress for failing to fulfill the aspirations of the people since Independence, and asked the people what the Congress, which ruled for 50 years, did in the past.
He ridiculed the party for pleading with the people to give it once chance in power, saying that the people had already given it 10-11 chances, but that the party had failed to provide even basic facilities to the people.
For example, he said, even though the Krishna and the Godavari rivers passed through Telangana, the Congress had failed to provide irrigation and drinking water to the people.
Criticising the statement of TPCC president Revanth Reddy who said that three hours of power supply was enough for agriculture with a 10 HP capacity motor, the CM said that a majority of the farmers were using 3 HP and 5 HP motors for their agriculture pump sets, and asked who would buy 10 HP motors.
Courting tribal votes, the CM promised to implement a Girijana Bandhu on par with the Dalit Bandhu scheme, for all the tribals who were leading their lives without land, a job and other economic support.
