Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and Telangana Chief-Minister-designate K Chandrasekhar Rao has called for a Telangana Bandh on Thursday on the Polavaram Project issue.
The decision to call for a bandh was taken on Wednesday following reports that the Union Cabinet, which met at New Delhi under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had decided to come out with an ordinance to begin work on the Polavaram Project.
Since TRS had been demanding changes in the design of the Polavaram Project and in the allocation of all the affected mandals of Khammam to the Telangana State, the Party decided to call for a bandh.
Several JACs have announced their support for the TRS bandh call. (INN)
