GHMC Workers Strike: Left Calls For Bandh On Jul 17
CPI MLA R Ravindra Kumar lamented that the state government was not responding to the "just" demands of the striking municipal employees even after 10 days.
The CPI Legislature Party has urged all sections of people to participate in a bandh called for by 10 Left parties on July 17 in support of the striking GHMC outsourced workers.
In a press note, CPI legislator R Ravindra Kumar lamented that the state government was not responding to the "just" demands of the striking municipal employees even after 10 days.
Reminding that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had in the recent past described municipal and sanitation employees as equivalent to gods, he asked the former whether the same workers were looking like demons now.
Kumar faulted the Chief Minister for saying that he would utilise services of the Army and the police to suppress the striking employees.
"KCR has been adopting anti-labour policies," Ravindra Kumar alleged.
Urging the people to make the proposed bandh on July 17 a grand success, he advised the government not to be adamant with regard to the problems of the striking workers.
The CPI leader said the government should wake up at least now as the garbage piling up on the roads had turned noisome and acrid.
