GHMC Workers Strike: Congress Backs Bandh Call
The Telangana Congress extended full support to the bandh called for by 10 Left parties on July 17 in support of the striking GHMC outsourced employees.
TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said his party was extending full support to the bandh called for by 10 Left parties on July 17 in support of the striking GHMC outsourced employees.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Vikramarka expressed surprise over the government filing cases against the striking municipal workers, who were just demanding a salary hike.
He demanded that the TRS government implement the salaries proposed by the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) for the striking workers.
Alleging that the Chief Minister was working against the "Samajika Telangana" spirit, Vikramarka asked the government to solve all the problems of the workers immediately.
He criticised the TRS government for arresting illegally the leaders of various political parties that were extending support to the striking employees, and lashed out at KCR for behaving like a monarch and resorting to police force.
He asked the Congress party activists to participate in the bandh and make it big success. (NSS)
