Extending support to the Left parties' call for a Telangana bandh in support of the GHMC outsourced workers' strike, Telangana TDP leader E Peddi Reddy today accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of making Hyderabad a city of garbage and trash.
Talking to mediapersons at NTR Trust Bhavan on Thursday, Reddy warned that if the present strike continued due to the failure of the government to resolve the workers' demands of a salary hike and more, there was a danger of contagious diseases spreading.
He expressed discontentment with KCR for not inviting the seven trade unions for talks to resolve their just demands, and exhorted the Telugu Desam Party activists to participate in the protest on Friday to exert pressure on the TRS government.
The bandh was getting support from all other political parties too as the GHMC workers had been on the warpath for 11 days, he said.
He took exception to KCR for warning that the Army, police and other officials would be pressed into the cleaning jobs if the sanitation workers failed to resume duties.
Also flaying Industries Minister Jupally Krishna Rao for throwing useless challenges, Reddy said that they were ready for a debate at the Telangana Martyrs' memorial opposite to the Assembly if the government released a white paper on the funds spent and on its implementation of its manifesto promises.
