Congress senior leader and MLC K R Amos on Tuesday advised his party MPs to restrain from taking hasty decisions like that of leaving the party.
Talking to media persons in the Assembly premises, Amos accused former MP K Keshava Rao of trying to exploit Congress MPs for his own political gain by taking them closer to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.
He said that MPs must not fall prey to KK's "politics", and that they must continue to trust the Congress High Command.
He claimed that only the Congress could form a separate Telangana, and that the MPs should pressurise the High Command for an early decision on the statehood issue.
Speaking about Home Minister P Sabitha Indira Reddy's inclusion as one of the accused in the CBI's charge sheet in Jaganmohan Reddy's disproportionate assets case, Amos said that the issue must be discussed in the state cabinet meeting instead of in the media.
He said that public statements on the matter would damage the reputations of both the party and the government.
Referring to Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao's statements, Amos said that the former must approach the CBI court if he wants Jagan to be shifted to Tihar Jail from Chanchalguda Prison. He added that it was wrong to seek Kiran Kumar Reddy's intervention on this matter, since it was only courts that can decide where an undertrial prisoner ought to be lodged. (INN)
