In order to protect the interests of peace in the Telangana region, GO 177 must be kept in abeyance or withdrawn, the minister urged the Chief Minister.

The contentious GO 177 issued earlier in the week by Chief Secretary S V Prasad is under review by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, who was on Friday asked to either keep it in abeyance or cancel it in view of futility of its continuance, by Endowments Minister Jupally Krishna Rao.
Rao, who had resigned from the Cabinet on March 3, met the Chief Minister and requested him to ensure that the GO cited be withdrawn or kept in abeyance with immediate effect.
In order to protect the interests of peace in the Telangana region, the GO must be kept in abeyance, the Minister urged the Chief Minister.
The GO's continuance has been forcing commoners to think that the Congress government was nurturing hostility towards the Telangana society as a whole, Krishna Rao told media persons at the Secretariat after his meeting with Kiran Kumar Reddy.
The Minister also said that he plans to take up a Padayatra from April 24 from Palamur constituency, Mahabubnagar district, in support of Telangana. He clarified that his resignation letter stands good but that the Chief Minister had asked him to continue as a member of the Cabinet.
Earlier, Rao had submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister for withdrawal of the said GO, and listed out its negative consequences.
Meanwhile, Telangana Rashtra Samithi Floor Leader in the state Assembly Etela Rajender addressed a media meeting at the Secretariat and said that not one Telangana official benefited in the recent shuffle of Vice-Chancellors. (INN)
