Telangana activist Jupally Krishna Rao's
resignation was accepted by Governor E S L Narasimhan late Wednesday evening. It has been reported that Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy discussed Jupally's resignation with the Governor on Wednesday morning, wherein he consented to Jupally's bid to resign.
Jupally had on Tuesday handed in his 2nd resignation letter in 3 months, mounting pressure on the government to respond to his bid to quit the Kiran Kumar Reddy government. Jupally had submitted his first resignation letter in March to the CM and to All India Congress President Sonia Gandhi, and then tendered his 2nd resignation to the Guv.
According to sources, it has been decided that Information Technology (IT) Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah would temporarily take over the responsibilities of an Endowments Minister.
With the acceptance of Jupally's resignation boosting his image in the Telangana region, Information and Public Relations Minister D K Aruna is reportedly striving to salvage her reputation in the district. Jupally and Aruna met on Wednesday in the presence of Congress Working Committee (CWC) member K Keshava Rao, who has been reportedly trying to work out a compromise between the 2 warring leaders for 2 days now.
Emerging from the meeting, Aruna denied that she ever attempted to stop Jupally's Prajabhimanam Yatra. She stated that she only expressed her displeasure over the fact that she was not informed about political activities being conducted in her constituency.
She clarified that she would not obstruct Jupally's yatra in Gadwal.
