Hot weather conditions prevailed over many places in Telangana with the average maximum temperature being recorded at more than 40°C - only the south-west parts of the state saw the highest temperatures recorded at less than 38°C.

However, with a north-south trough prevailing over Telangana during the week, rain/thunderstorms occurred at a few places over Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medchal, Malkajgiri and some neighbouring places on April 5 and 6.
Rainfall of 37mm at Quthbullapur (Medchal-Malkajgiri), 32mm at Abdullapurmet (Ranga Reddy) and 31mm at Chandurthi (Rajanna-Siricilla) was recorded on April 5. And rainfall of 82mm at Kandukur (Ranga Reddy), 40mm at Bhongir (Yadadri-Bhongir) and 35mm at Amrabad (Nagarkurnool) was recorded on April 6.
The forecast for the next week (April 8 to 14) indicates dry weather conditions continuing in Telangana. The average maximum temperatures are likely to be more than 40°C over most parts of the state, though in the south-west parts of the state they will be in the range of 37°C to 40°C. The minimum temperatures will be in the range of 24°C to 27°C.
