Following heavy rainfall today in several districts and in Hyderabad, and with the IMD forecasting rains in Telangana for the next three days, too, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy instructed the concerned officials to remain on high alert and take the necessary precautions.
Reddy directed the various district Collectors to implement appropriate safety measures to prevent paddy stockpiled at procurement centres and market yards from getting wet. He instructed the officials to ensure that the paddy was shifted to rice mills immediately after weighing. He also asked them to take the necessary precautions in low-lying areas to avoid waterlogging and flooding without causing inconvenience to residents.
In view of the rains in Hyderabad, the CM ordered the civic authorities to take prompt steps to prevent waterlogging on the roads in the rain-affected areas and to ensure that there were no traffic congestions or power outages.
The GHMC, police, HYDRAA and electricity departments have been directed to work in close coordination.
The Chief Minister also instructed Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao to monitor the situation and review the developments from time to time.
