Heat wave conditions prevailed over many parts in the districts of Khammam, Mahbubnagar and Nalgonda in Telangana, according to a bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department. Manuguru, Kothagudem and Yellandu in the Khammam district, however, received rainfall.
The bulletin stated that dry weather may continue to prevail over the State for the next five days, and that heat wave conditions were very likely at many places in all the districts. There would be appreciable rise in the maximum temperatures at one or two places over the State, the IMD said. The temperatures were already markedly above normal, it added.
On Saturday, the highest maximum temperature of 45 degree Celsius was recorded at Bhadrachalam, Khammam, Nalgonda and Nizamabad. Adilabad, Mahabubnagar, Medak and Ramagundam recorded 44 degrees Celsius, Hanumakonda recorded 43 degrees, and Hyderabad and Hakimpet recorded 42 degrees.
