Ever since the Telangana issue flared up in recent years, two posts have been in the limelight, those of the Union Home Minister and the state Governor.
Governor E S L Narasimhan on Wednesday met Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde in Delhi, and speculation is rife that the two had discussed the state's affairs, with a special focus on Telangana.
Preceding the meeting, the Governor had met the officials of the Home Ministry and the Intelligence Department. It is also believed that the Governor is likely to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
The Home Ministry is key to a decision on Telangana. The earlier Home Minister, P Chidrambaram, drew flak for his turn-around on the issue.
Shinde, too, made remarks that were repudiated by a union minister, but the issue was resolved, with Shinde saying that the Telangana issue needs more time.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kuamr Reddy and PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana have already visited Delhi, and discussed the issue with senior leaders. The Centre has said that it will also call leaders from all the three regions and discuss the issue with them. (INN)
