KCR Rail Roko Case: HC Issues Notice To Complainant
The High Court today heard the former Telangana CM's petition seeking dismissal of a rail roko case registered against him in 2011 during the statehood movement.
Former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has approached the Telangana High Court seeking the dismissal of the Secunderabad rail roko case registered against him during the Telangana statehood movement.
The court today heard KCR's petition regarding the case. His lawyer argued that KCR was not present at the site where the rail roko took place on October 15, 2011. However, the public prosecutor contended that the protest was carried out on KCR's call.
After hearing the arguments, the court directed that a notice be issued to the complainant who had reported the incident to the police. Following this order, the court adjourned the case for further hearings.
For context, the Rail Roko protest took place in Secunderabad on October 15, 2011, as part of the Telangana statehood movement. At the time, a case was registered, and several individuals were arrested by the police. On June 25, 2024, the Public Representatives Court had stayed the case.
