BRS Assembly Whip K P Vivekanand today launched a scathing attack on the PCC and the Congress-led State government, accusing them of selling off valuable land in a Rs 10,000 crore scam and resorting to threats against BRS working president K T Rama Rao for exposing their alleged corruption.
Addressing mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan, Vivekanand accused the government of using intimidation tactics to silence the BRS.
He said that KTR had presented irrefutable evidence of financial irregularities in the Kancha Gachibowli land issue, leaving Congress leaders speechless.
"The government is neck-deep in this mess, and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and his team are trying to cover up the scandal, even issuing conflicting statements in their confusion," he alleged.
He specifically targeted PCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud for issuing "baseless threats" to imprison KTR, calling him a "dummy PCC president" who lacked understanding of the issue.
Vivekanand challenged Goud to an open debate and demanded that the Chief Minister also be present to answer questions.
He also alleged that the government had mortgaged land worth Rs 10,000 crore and diverted funds to contractors, while farmers still awaited their promised Rythu Bharosa payments.
He also claimed that a broader political conspiracy was at play, alleging a "Congress-BJP coalition" in Telangana, and vowed to soon reveal the name of a BJP MP linked to the scandal.
Targeting Congress leader Meenakshi Natarajan, whom he dubbed the "super CM", Vivekanand asked whether she was justifying or correcting Revanth Reddy's misgovernance. He drew a contrast with former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who he claimed had protected the State's assets by securing 17,000 acres for Pharma City, unlike the current CM who was allegedly misusing the same lands for real estate deals.
Vivekanand said that the BRS was determined to pursue the issue through legal channels. "We will not let this go. We will approach the courts and demand a white paper on the matter. KTR has already written to several Central agencies seeking an investigation," he said.
Vivekanand concluded by warning the Congress that KTR's revelations were just the trailer, with more to follow.
