Govt. For SC Categorisation

Primary Education Minister S Sailajanath said that the government was committed to make the centre pass the bill on SCs categorization.
Hyderabad | 6th December 2010
Reiterating that the government was in favour of categorization of SCs, Primary Education Minister S Sailajanath on Sunday stated that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy would lead an all-party delegation to New Delhi to persuade the centre to introduce and pass the bill.

Talking to media persons at CLP Office, the Minister said that the government would stand by its earlier resolution made in the Assembly.

Sailajanath stated that the Chief Minister would solve the problem without affecting the interests of both Mala and Madiga communities.

He advised both Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti president Manda Krishna Madiga and Mala Mahanadu president R S Ratnakar to observe restraint and help government to maintain law and order.

He appealed to both Manda Krishna Madiga and R S Ratnakar to withdraw their hunger fasts.

Meanwhile, the state government stated that it was committed to the categorization of Scheduled Castes.

According to a pressnote from the Chief Minister's Office, the state legislature had unanimously passed a resolution on the subject, and the state government had sent an all-party delegation to New Delhi to discuss the matter.

Former chief ministers, the late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, and K Rosaiah, had also written to the Centre requesting for early action on the issue.

The press release stated that the government was ready to send a delegation to New Delhi to pursue the matter concerning the categorization of scheduled castes.
