The Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi leader was taken into preventive custody by the police in view of his proposed dharna at Indira Park in support of the RTC strike.
Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) leader Manda Krishna Madiga was taken into preventive custody by the police in view of his proposed dharna at Indira Park on Sunday.
The MRPS had called for a protest at Indira Park in support of the TSRTC employees' strike, and the city police had denied permission for the program. On receiving information that the MRPS intended to go ahead with the protest anyway, the police, detained Madiga, holed up in a lodge at Habsiguda, as a preventive measure.
Several MRPS activists were also taken into custody at various places when they tried to march towards Indira Park.
City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar and other senior officials are monitoring the situation.
