Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti founder Manda Krishna Madiga today said that all the parties of the Opposition had failed miserably in taking on Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his party, the TRS, in any of the recent elections held in the state.
Speaking to the media, he said that the Samiti had decided to contest in the upcoming Nagarjuna Sagar by-election simply to expose the "fraud" committed by KCR against the state's Dalit community by forgetting his promise of making a Dalit leader the CM of the state.
"A candidate from the Mahajana Socialist Party (MSP) will stand in the by-election to represent the SC community. The candidate will fight for the cause of the Dalits. The victory of the candidate will ensure that the most downtrodden and marginalised in society gain political representation. I dare the TRS, the Congress and the BJP to go head to head with the MSP candidate without resorting to the use of underhand means to secure votes. They should fight the elections without distributing money and liquor. Then they will see where they truly stand," he fumed.
Madiga alleged that the Opposition too had done nothing to stop the injustice meted out to the Dalits, and had instead joined hands with the ruling party for personal gains.
The leader also strongly refuted the allegations that he too had a secret understanding with the CM, and made clear the fact that leaders from the Samiti would contest in all the elections in the state in the future to "protect" the weaker sections of society from the "unjust ways" of KCR’s Cabinet.
