The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has decided to launch a special drive to remove debris from the city.
The GHMC Standing Committee has accorded approval for the hiring of 6-tonner tippers for the removal of accumulated debris in all 150 wards.
Accordingly, the GHMC has selected 5 agencies for each zone through a tender process for the hiring of the tippers, with four labourers for each, for 10 days.
Each vehicle will make five trips daily to remove the debris. The Zonal and Deputy Commissioners will coordinate the launch and daily monitoring of the debris-removing vehicles.
These vehicles will each be fitted with GPS for effective monitoring.
For each ward, an in-charge officer has been designated to take OSRT photos before and after dumping at the designated sites. They will also ensure that the main roads and colony roads in particular are cleared of debris. (INN)
