GHMC To Have Budget Of Rs 20,000 Cr: Somesh Kumar

GHMC Commissioner & Special Officer Somesh Kumar said that the corporation was coming up with a budget of Rs 20,000 crores for beautiful roads, flyovers like the PVNR Express and other projects in Hyderabad.
The Special Officer made this announcement while addressing a get-together attended by GHMC Special Commissioners Ahmed Babu and Pradyumna, Additional Commissioners, and other senior officials and staff, at the GHMC headquarters on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Somesh Kumar said that with the help of all the officers and staff, the GHMC could take up lot of innovative schemes.
Kumar said that it was due to the efforts of the GHMC officials and staff that the corporation was able to increase its tax collection from Rs 740 crores in 2013 to Rs 1,024 crores in 2014.
He expressed hope that the collections would break the previous records this year.
He also explained the various initiatives launched by the GHMC, and sought the cooperation of the officials in the proper implementation of the same.
All the senior officials from the Town Planning, Engineering, Health and Accounts departments, and employees of various wings of the GHMC, participated in the get-together. (INN)
