Former Minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy Resigns From YSRCP

Balineni had been very unhappy with the YSRCP high command for some time.
Hyderabad | 18th September 2024
Former minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy today resigned from the YSR Congress Party.

He announced his resignation due to "some reasons".

In his resignation letter, Reddy said that politics were different and relationships were different (he is a relative of former CM and YSRCP boss Jagan), and that he opposed Jagan's wrong decisions.

He added that in politics language should be respectful and dignified, and that it was the responsibility of the political leaders to protect the values in politics. He claimed that he had helped anyone who came to him without thinking about politics, and that he was a five-time MLA because of values like that.

He also mentioned in the letter that he was leaving the YSRCP due to "some reasons".

Balineni had been very unhappy with the YSRCP high command for some time. He had always had differences with YSRCP leader Y V Subba Reddy (despite being married to Sachi Devi, sister of Subba Reddy). He was quite disappointed when he was removed from the post of minister in 2023, and later expressed his displeasure over the Ongole MP ticket not being given to his son Praneeth, and over being removed from the post of the district president and it being handed over to party leader Jenke Venkat Reddy. With these actions, Balineni lost his hold in the party.

In this context, the party high command held talks with Balineni. He recently met Jagan. He told Jagan that there was no situation for him to continue in the party. Later, he met 20 corporators from Ongole and some of his close friends at his residence in Hyderabad and decided to leave the party.

Balineni is said to be joining the Jana Sena.
