Telangana's new Director General of Police M Mahender Reddy on Saturday said that his main task was to ensure effective policing in all the districts with regard to maintenance of traffic, and law and order.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, Reddy said that the quality of and the importance given to the policing would be the same everywhere - be it the capital city of Hyderabad or a remote village in Adilabad district.
The DGP also said that the revolutionary changes implemented in the Hyderabad police commissionerate would be replicated in every district of the state.
"Ensuring women's security and curbing crime will be a top priority," Reddy added.
The DGP also said that the police department had installed 1.5 lakh CC cameras in the areas under the Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda police commissionerates, and would target installing CC cameras across all inhabited areas in the state.
