Anjani Kumar Assumes Charge As New DGP Of Telangana

Senior IPS officer M Anjani Kumar today took charge as the incharge DGP of the State.
He received charge from Mahender Reddy, who retired today.
Several senior IPS officials took part in the charge-taking ceremony, and congratulated Anjani Kumar on the occasion.
The State government had issued orders a few days back appointing Anjani Kumar as the incharge DGP upon the retirement of Reddy.
Kumar is a 1990 batch IPS officer and discharged several crucial responsibilities in a three-decade career.
He started his career as an ASP of Jangaon, and later went on to work as the SP of Mahbubnagar, Prakasam and Guntur districts in undivided Andhra Pradesh.
He also worked as a member of the Peace Protection Force of the United Nations for a year in 1998, and received the UN peace medal two times in recognition of his services.
He also worked as the chief of the Counter Intelligence Cell, the Nizamabad range DIG, an Additional CP in Hyderabad, the Hyderabad CP and then the ACB's DG.
Meanwhile, another IPS officer, of the 1997 batch, Devendra Singh Chouhan, took charge as the Commissioner of Police of the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate.
He received charge from the outgoing CP Mahesh Bhagwat, who has been posted as the Additional DG of the CID.
Chouhan had worked in the excise department and Central services in the past. He is an M Tech graduate, and belongs to Uttar Pradesh.
