Telangana DGP M Mahender Reddy today condemned the comments made by TPCC chief Revanth Reddy that he was forced to go on leave by the state government.
The DGP asserted that there was no iota of truth in the claims of the TPCC chief.
Mahender Reddy said that he had sustained injuries on his left hand and a hairline fracture on a scapula after falling in his house.
He said that doctors had put his hand in a cast and asked him to take complete rest until full recovery, and that that was the reason that he had gone on leave from February 8 to March 4.
He said that he had now resumed duties on the advice of the doctors.
He condemned the TPCC chief making "baseless comments" about him without making an attempt to find out the reasons behind his long leave.
He said that it was highly improper for the TPCC chief to spread such lies, especially given that the latter was the leader of a major political party's state unit.
He said that he was condemning the "false campaign" of Revanth Reddy against him, and lamented that such comments were likely to create confusion in the state government, demoralise the police force and cause harm to the people of the state.
He urged Revanth Reddy to exercise restraint while making such comments against All India Services officers.
For the unversed, Revanth Reddy has been claiming that all top bureaucratic positions in the state were being given to IAS and IPS officers of Bihar since KCR's roots were in Bihar, and that Anjani Kumar, a Bihar IPS officer, was made DGP of the state through the backdoor by Mahender Reddy being forced to go on leave.
