Officials of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) today filed a petition in a Nampally court urging it to permit them to record the statements of the accused in the sensational TSPSP question paper leak case, in the Chanchalguda central jail.

In its petition, the ED told the court that it wanted to record the statements of Renuka, Dakya Naik, Rajeswar Naik, Gopal Naik and Shameem, all accused in the case, and urged the court to issue directions to the Superintendent of the Chanchalguda central prison to allow its officials to record their statements inside the jail.

Following the petition of the ED, the court issued notices to the accused, and will hold a hearing in the case after the submissions of their counters.

The ED officials have registered a money laundering case in the issue, and are investigating the matter. They have already recorded the statements of the two prime accused in the case, Praveen and Rajasekhara Reddy. They have also recorded the statements of TSPSC Chairman B Janardhan Reddy, Secretary Anitha Ramachandran, and officials of the commission Satyanarayana and Sankara Lakshmi.

Three of the accused in the case, Renuka, Ramesh and Prashant Reddy, have just made bail. The other accused Praveen, Rajasekhara Reddy, Dakya Naik, Rajeswar Naik, Gopal Naik, Nilesh Naik and others have also filed their bail petitions.
