Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Monday informed the Telangana Assembly that the DRDO was establishing a research unit at a cost of Rs 1600 crores in Nagarjuna Sagar in the Nalgonda district.
Replying to a question raised by G Kishore Kumar during the Question Hour, the Chief Minister said that the government had decided to allot 100 acres of land for the setting up of the research unit.
He said that the Revenue Department had directed the Nalgonda District Collector to hand over possession of government land of 101 acres in Survey No 70, Nandikonda village in Peddavura mandal, to the Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE) of the DRDO and to submit alienation proposals vide Memo dated 3.9.2014.
The District Revenue Authorities were taking the necessary steps for giving advance possession of the said land to the GTRE of DRDO, KCR said. (INN)
