Thousands of devotees, on Monday, thronged the Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy temple in Srisailam, to witness the Arudrabhishekham.
It is believed that praying to Lord Siva on this day, which is ruled by the star Arudra, would heal many ailments, as Arudra is considered to be the beloved star of the Lord.
Hindu scriptures say that reciting the Siva Nakstra Moulika Stotra will please the Lord, who will then bestow devotees with all types of earthly pleasures, and will ward off problems.
On the occasion, Suprabhata Seva, Mahanyasa Ekadasha Rudrabhishekam, Annabhishekam and Panchamruthabhishekam were performed at the temple.
After performing special poojas, a procession of Mallikarjuna Swamy and Brahmarambika was taken through the Uttara Gate on the Nandi Vahanam.
The Devasthanam officials cancelled the special sevas to be conducted in the wee hours. (INN)
